Giuseppe Quintarelli (1927–2012) is regarded as the single most important figure of modern Valpolicella, his Amarones and Reciotos defining the upper limits of what the region's appassimento process can achieve. The estate, now run by family, continues to release wines after long cellar aging — sometimes a decade or more after vintage.
