The Foucault brothers, Charly and Nady, ran Clos Rougeard for decades as the most important domaine in Saumur-Champigny — Le Bourg, Les Poyeux, and Le Clos producing Cabernet Francs of unmatched depth and longevity. After both brothers passed, the estate was sold to the Bouygues family; older vintages remain among the most sought-after Loire reds.
